My friend lives in a state far from me, and she is taking a class trip to Barcelona. However, the plane will land in my state and they will stay here for 3 hours and then continue the flight to Catalunya. Would I be able to meet with her and hang out with her, I’m not sure if I’d have access to somewhere in the airport where we could see each other?
I don’t know anything about how airports work, I’m sorry if this is very confusing.

You would not have access to airside but in general connecting passengers can come out to groundside. The trick here is the class trip part, whether she would be permitted to leave the group.
